Hop down to the Crooked Billet beer festival

Crooked Billet at Newton Longville

By Dominic G. Martin

The Crooked Billet, in Newton Longville, Milton Keynes, is holding its second ever beer festival on April 29th to May 2nd, and it promises to outdo its first year by holding a spectacular event.

Last year it was held to great success with the public, but now the team want to expand the festival, and in doing so, they are going to be putting on a variety of events that will make beer and cider lovers drool with anticipation.

Co-owner Alan Ayres gave us the lowdown on all of the events going on across the weekend.
He said: “So this year’s beer festival is going to be bigger and better than last year, we’re going to have an even bigger beer tent in the garden, a bigger selection of local and guest Ales and ciders.“

Of course, the event isn’t simply aimed at beer-drinking adults, but children as well have something to do, as Alan tells us.

“There will be an even bigger bouncy castle for the kids with face painting and garden games, and of course, the barbecue and hog roast will run each day from open to close,” he said.

As always though, there will be entertainment supplied by local bands and talent.

On Friday, will be a local duo, known as The Inside Job, while on Saturday comes the The Flying Ants, a Beatles tribute band and solo artist Sam Wallace. Sunday will see Luke Ryan perform, followed by an encore performance from The Inside Job to end the festival.

As well as this, on the Sunday, there will be a charity horse racing night raising money for Prostate Cancer and the British Heart Foundation.

If you need more information, contact the pub on 01908 373936, or alternatively visit the website at http://www.thecrookedbilletmiltonkeynes.co.uk/

And the best news is that entry is free all weekend long!
