Wolverton Town FC to move to Manor Fields until the end of the season

Wolverton Town are set to end their spell without a ground after agreeing to move to Manor Fields until the end of the current season.

The Wolves were kicked out of The New Park, Greenleys, which had been their home since 2011 when they joined the Spartan South Midlands League, after various breaches of their lease.

They asked a number of local football sides to share their pitches, including Stony Stratford Town, and Manor Fields have agreed to help out.

Wolverton Town secretary/treasurer Christine Greenwood confirmed the news to Sports Shots, and offered hope for their reserve team as well.

He said: “Manor Fields have offered us share of their pitch to end of season and we are nearly there with a ground share for the reserves.

“Unfortunately we have been unable to find a local pitch for this Saturdays first team game vs AFC Hillgate so it will have to be reversed to their pitch.

“The committee would like to thank Grendon Rangers and Aston Clinton for their help over the last couple of weeks.”
