Milton Keynes men jailed for racially aggravated knife attack
Two men have been jailed for attacking a man outside a pub in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, in May.
Ryan Boon, aged 22, of Cleeve Crescent, Bletchley (above), was yesterday (22/12) sentenced to nine years’ imprisonment at Amersham Crown Court. He had previously pleaded guilty to wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.
Charlie Righelato, aged 20, of Rydal Way, Bletchley (below), was found guilty by a jury of wounding with intent, racially aggravated assault and possession of an offensive weapon in November. He was sentenced to 12-and-a-half years’ imprisonment.
On 21 May this year, Boon and Righelato went into a pub in Serpentine Court and racially insulted a 23-year-old man.
When the victim and his friends left the pub, the pair accosted him again. They then chased him and his friends.
When the victim became separated from his friends, he was attacked by Boon and Righelato, who were both carrying a knife.
During the attack, the victim sustained three deep slash wounds, one to his arm and two to his thigh. They required a large number of stitches and the victim still suffers walking difficulties.
Investigating officer Det Con Greg Hughes from Milton Keynes Force CID said: “This was a racially motivated and totally unprovoked attack which resulted in serious injuries to the victim.
“This kind of behaviour will absolutely not be tolerated and as these sentences show, offenders will be caught and they will be brought to justice.”
