Gareth Edds leads ‘Wolfie’ tributes
Former MK Dons player Gareth Edds has led the tributes to homeless fan ‘Wolfie’ who passed away this week.
The Australian midfielder, 32, tweeted his condolences to the man who fans pulled together to buy a season ticket for in the 2007-2008 season.
His illnesses meant that his attendance at games was reduced and eventually non-existent, but he was still famous for a Dons tattoo on his forehead, leopard print clothes and chanting “MK army” whenever he saw somebody in a Dons shirt.
While he divided opinion at the club, the tributes have been nothing but admirable for the man who lived his life for the football club.
RIP Wolfie.

WOOLFIE
YOU SAID THEY’D MISS YOU WHEN YOU’D GONE!
WELL NOW, I KNOW THAT’S TRUE
I DIDN’T KNOW YOU VERY WELL
BUT YES, I DO MISS YOU!
OUTSIDE THE WAITROSE STORE YOU‘D STAND,
BIG ISSUE HELD, WITHIN YOUR HAND
A CHEEKY SMILE UPON THAT FACE
WOOLFIE, THAT SAID IT ALL!
I GAVE YOU, MY OLD, WORN OUT GUITAR
YOU SAID YOU’D WRITE A SONG
BETTER KEEP IT CLEAN I SAID!
WOOLFIE? WHERE HAVE YOU GONE?
WINTER CAME, I THOUGHT OF YOU
OUT THERE IN THE COLD
LIFE IS VERY CRUEL FOR SOME
AND YOU WERE GETTING OLD.
I GAVE A LITTLE, WHEN I COULD
A SANDWHICH, COIN OR SUCH
IT NEVER DID FEEL VERY MUCH
IT NEVER FELT ENOUGH!
I WENT TO WORK, THE OTHER DAY
THEY TOLD ME THAT YOU’D GONE
I KNEW YOU HAD BEEN VERY ILL
BUT WOOLFIE, IT STILL FELT WRONG!
I HOPE GOD HAS YOU, IN HIS CARE
A CHERUB WITH A GRIN
YOU WON MY HEART, YOU PLAYED YOUR PART
BUT I’D LOVE TO HEAR YOU SING!
GOD BLESS YOU WOOLFIE
LOVE FROM
NINA Xx
